Couric was the first woman to solo anchor and be managing editor for a major television news network prime-time broadcast, the CBS Evening News, in 2006. Prior to that, Couric was co-host of NBC Today for five years. She also co-hosted the Barcelona Summer Olympics in 1992 and co-hosted NBC's live coverage of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from 1991 to 2005.The Washington Journalism Review named Couric "Best in the Business" in 1993.
